“Homeopathy Doesn’t Work for Me” — Or Does It?

If you’ve ever caught yourself saying, “Homeopathy doesn’t work for me,” you’re not alone — and you’re also not entirely right. The truth is, homeopathy is a beautifully complex system of medicine that always works... when it’s used properly. It’s my job as your homeopath to make sure you’re not only taking the right remedy but also taking it the right way.
Let’s talk about where things can go sideways — and how to set them straight.
1. The Direction Dilemma: Why Skipping Instructions Can Sabotage Your Success
We’ve all been there—skimming the instructions on a box or nodding along while a practitioner talks, only to get home or off a call and realize we missed the details.
Whether you’re using a Boiron combo remedy or something I’ve recommended personally, the directions matter.
I know it can be tempting to wing it or tweak things on your own — especially if you’re feeling better or, on the flip side, not feeling change fast enough. But homeopathy doesn’t work like conventional meds. Timing, repetition, and how you take your remedy all matter. Trust the process — and your practitioner.
2. That Minty Fresh Mistake

Yes, your toothpaste might be messing with your remedy. Mint is a well-known antidote to many homeopathic medicines. I always recommend switching to a non-mint toothpaste (there are great options out there!) while you’re on a remedy protocol. It’s such a simple switch that can make a world of difference in how your remedy works.
I always suggest to my clients that they take a little break from mint toothpaste while using homeopathic remedies. It’s a small sacrifice for a big payoff! It is best just to choose another flavor—like fennel, cinnamon, or a fruit flavor—for the time being. Once you are done with your remedy, you can go back to your peppermint sparkle!
3. One Pill Wonder? Not Quite.
I often hear from people who say they tried “just one pill” and didn’t notice anything. Here’s the thing: I’m not a pharmacist, so I don’t guess — I follow the carefully developed dosing guidelines provided with your remedy.
These guidelines are there for a reason. Whether it’s one pellet or five, trust the dosage on the bottle or the box. You deserve results, not random experiments.
4. The Water Dosing Dilemma — When to Use (and When Not To)
You might have heard of "water dosing." This is a method where you dissolve pills in a glass of water, stir it, and take just one sip as a "dose."
Water dosing has its place, and it can be incredibly effective — when it’s called for. But it’s not the go-to method for every situation. If your homeopath hasn’t specifically instructed you to use the water dosing method, stick with the standard way.
There’s a reason it’s the norm!
Sticking to dry doses (letting the pellets dissolve under your tongue) is usually the standard unless you've been given a special plan. If you try to water dose without guidance, you might be diluting the effectiveness of your treatment.
5. The Biggest Oops: Not Taking the Remedy at All
It may sound silly, but one of the most common reasons homeopathy “doesn’t work” is simply not taking the remedy — or not taking it as prescribed. Life gets busy. Bottles get forgotten at the back of a cabinet. It happens! But consistency is key when it comes to healing with homeopathy.
Not taking the remedy as directed—or worse, not taking it at all—guarantees zero results. Consistency is key. Set an alarm on your phone, put a sticky note on your bathroom mirror, or keep your remedy by your bedside table. Do whatever you need to do to remember to show up for your own healing.
6. Finding Your Homeopathy Partner
In order to have true success with homeopathy, it helps to have a basic understanding of how it works. But even better? Working with someone who doesn't just "dabble" in it but takes it seriously.
A professional homeopath guides you through these pitfalls. We are here to troubleshoot, to adjust, and to cheer you on.
So... Does Homeopathy Really Work?

Here is the truth I want you to take away today: Homeopathy ALWAYS works.
That’s a bold statement, but I stand by it. As long as the correct remedy is chosen and it is taken correctly, the body responds.
If it hasn't worked for you yet, it’s not because your body is broken or the system is flawed. It just means we need to tweak the variables.
So, let's try again, shall we? Your healing is worth it.
