Because catchy titles sell.
Have you ever noticed how catchy the names of some of these pharmaceutical
drugs are? Let’s take Viagra for example, here’s a quote from the article:
“...sounds a bit like vigor and vitality, two relevant themes for erectile
dysfunction. Effective names hold extraordinary potential.”
These drug companies know what they are doing.
However, what they don’t tell you is that these drugs come with a hefty dose of
reality in the form of side effects.
“But the erectile dysfunction drug has been linked to serious side effects,
including vision and hearing loss, heart complications and melanoma.”
Not exactly sexy.
Homeopathy is different. The remedy name is exactly what it is.
Arnica is Leopard's bane, a flower that grows in the alps. Bryonia is Wild Hops.
These names were not coined by a marketing team during an all-night brain
storming session.
In homeopathy we use the Latin name because Latin is the universal language of
the sciences and medicine, and that is what homeopathy is, medicine. Nothing
false or misleading.
There are what they are. One ingredient. No side effects. Nothing pretentious,
nothing false. These remedies stand on their own merits. Homeopathic
pharmacies are not trying to line their pockets, they are dedicated people doing
their best to provide this medicine to the world.
Until the next time, remember:
There is another way.
